Freelance missions · Fractional CPO · Interim product lead

Hire me for a mission, not a job description.

Freelance and fractional product work for AI and B2B SaaS teams: a product audited, a number moved, a prototype shipped. Pick the mission, or start with a small one and see how it goes.

  1. Product audit2 weeks

You know the numbers are wrong and not why. I look at the product data, talk to the customers who stayed and the ones who left, and come back with the one decision I would make.

You keepA written diagnosis, the options rejected and why, and one metric to run against.

    The case · Taplio

  2. Activation and retention6 to 10 weeks

People sign up and leave before the product has done anything for them. I rebuild the path to first value around what retained customers actually do.

You keepA rebuilt activation flow, the instrumentation behind it, and the weekly number that says if it worked.

    The case · Taplio

  3. Positioning and focus4 to 8 weeks

The product interests people and nobody pays enough for it. I narrow it to the one job somebody has a budget for, and write down what we stop doing.

You keepA positioning thesis, the segments and features deliberately dropped, and the roadmap that follows.

    The case · Buska

  4. Zero to first revenue2 to 3 months

An idea, maybe a prototype, no customers yet — and a category that may already belong to someone bigger. I take it to the first paying accounts.

You keepA product in front of real buyers, the acquisition motion that got them, and the first revenue.

  5. Prototype or MVP, built by me2 to 6 weeks

You need the thing to exist before you can sell it, raise on it or test it, and hiring a team for that would take longer than building it. I write the code.

You keepA working product in production, the repository, and the deployment. TypeScript, React, Node.js, React Native, Python.

    The case · BeeSecure

  6. AI features that survive contact with users3 to 8 weeks

An LLM feature demos well and nobody can say whether it is right. I build it and the evaluation that says when it is wrong, so it can ship.

You keepThe feature in production, the scoring or evaluation behind it, and the cost per call.

    The case · Buska

  7. Fractional CPO or interim product leadOngoing, from one month

You need senior product leadership now and cannot justify a full-time CPO yet, or you have a gap to cover. One to three days a week, or full-time for a fixed period.

You keepDecisions made and written down, a team that knows what it is doing this quarter, and a hiring brief when you are ready to replace me.

    The case · Taplio

Durations are the usual shape, not a price list. Every mission ends with something you keep: a written decision, a shipped feature, a number that moved.

  1. Two weeks, one question

The lowest-risk way to work with me. You name the number that is not moving; I spend two weeks on it and hand back a written diagnosis with the decision I would make. If we stop there, you keep the document and have lost two weeks, not a quarter.

  2. A first call costs you nothing

Thirty minutes. Tell me what is stuck. If the mission is not one I would do well, I will say so on the call rather than sell you a month of my time.

  3. Everything I claim is on this site

Four case studies with the decision, the result and what I would do differently. A shipping log of twelve products. The full résumé. Read those before the call and you will know what you are buying.

  1. Week 1–2 · Look

Customer conversations, product data, the accounts that stayed. Written findings, not a deck.

  2. Week 3 · Decide

One decision, one metric, the options rejected and why. Agreed with whoever owns the P&L.

  3. Then · Run it

With the team: prioritise, unblock, write, prototype, measure. Until the number moves.

  4. End · Hand over

The decision log, the metric, the cadence, and a hiring brief if you now need someone full-time.

Freelance, fractional or interim?
A freelance mission is scoped work with a deliverable and an end. Fractional is part-time leadership in the duration, one to three days a week. Interim is full-time for a fixed period, usually a gap or a turnaround. I have done all three: interim CEO of Taplio with a five-person team, fractional product leadership alongside my own products, and scoped builds delivered alone.
Do you work with US teams?
Yes. I work remotely from France on US hours. As a French citizen working remotely, a mission involves no visa and no sponsorship — that question only arises for a full-time US role.
What does it cost?
A day rate, quoted after a first call once I know the scope and the number you need to move. Rates for French engagements are on my Malt profile. The two-week diagnosis is quoted as a fixed price.
Can I hire you full-time instead?
Yes, and I would rather. I am looking for a Product Lead, AI Product Manager, Founding PM or Senior Product Manager role, remote or relocating to the United States. A mission is a good way for both sides to find out before anyone signs anything long.
Are you available right now?
Yes, immediately, and I keep capacity for one to two engagements at a time so neither client gets the leftovers.
